Women on a Mission is the First Baptist Church of Sullivan ladies mission society. We currently have fifteen active members and look forward to more of our ladies joining our group.
We meet monthly at 6 p.m. Our meetings are held to bring us together in spirituality and to discuss the various issues at hand whether that be an upcoming donation we have been working towards making, a fund raiser we are planning or need we have recognized in the community or through our White Cross associates.
We love to do the fundraisers as it allows us to donate more to our missions - local and national and international. White Cross is a large part of our missions work. We enjoy rolling bandages as part of our meetings. Now that may sound boring, but it most certainly is not when you get a group of ladies together. We also make yearly donations to White Cross, and we help to provide funds for Christmas gifts for children who, without the help of White Cross, might go without. We also do a cookie/candy ministry in December delivering these treats to various church members and friends of the church.
We donate money on a monthly basis to the church to support our missionaries abroad. One mission locally that is very dear to us is our Youth. We like to provide support to them when we can. We especially love to help with the Christmas Wish tree. By serving others, we are serving God. In summary, we love doing mission work, and we are very grateful to the congregation of this Church for embracing us.
