Women on a Mission is the First Baptist Church of Sullivan ladies mission society. We currently have fifteen active members and look forward to more of our ladies joining our group. We are very active in our Area IV and Great Rivers Region.
We meet monthly. Our meetings are held to bring us together in spirituality and to discuss the various issues at hand whether that be an upcoming donation we have been working towards making, a fund raiser we are planning or need we have recognized in the community.
We love to do the fundraisers as it allows us to donate more to our missions - local and national and international. White Cross is a large part of our missions work. We select our White Cross projects such as "Little Dresses for Africa". We also do a cookie/candy ministry in December delivering these treats to various church members and friends of the church. We participate in "Operation Christmas Child" by collecting shoeboxes filled with gifts for boys and girls in other countries. Each year we send over 15 shoeboxes. We also donate to our GRR Home Mission project which is Peoria Friendship House.
We donate money on a monthly basis to the church to support our Global Servants. One mission locally that is very dear to us is our Youth. We like to provide support to them when we can. By serving others, we are serving God. In summary, we love doing mission work, and we are very grateful to the congregation of this Church for embracing us.
The "Blessing Boxes" and "Comfort Blankets" are given to those in our church and in the community. We love to let everyone know how much we love them and care about them.
